Amazon announced on Tuesday that Cyber Monday 2018 broke the record for the biggest shopping day in the company’s history. The company added that the five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday also broke overall and year on year records as customers ordered over 180 million items during the holidays.
Small and medium-sized businesses increased their sales by 20% on Black Friday, compared to the same day in 2017. Black Friday also saw over 4 million toys and electronics ordered via Amazon’s mobile app. Overall, more than 13 million fashion items and more than 18 million toys were purchased on Black Friday. The best selling product on Amazon was the new Echo Dot, topping all manufacturers in all categories.
Worldwide Consumer CEO Jeff Wilke said: “Black Friday and Cyber Monday continue to break records on Amazon year over year, which tells us that customers love shopping for deals to kick off the holiday shopping season.”
