A new report portrays the consequences of global warming as a real nightmare

Scientists and heads of government gathered on Monday to finalize one of the United Nations’ most important reports on how global warming is affecting people’s lives, their natural environment and the Earth itself.

Specifically an active group It foretells of a nightmare drawn in the dry language of scienceas they are formulated. The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, made up of hundreds of the world’s leading scientists, publishes three mega-reports on climate change every 5-7 years.

The latest update, due by the end of February, explains how climate change is already affecting people and the planet, what we can expect in the future, and the risks and benefits of adapting to a warmer world.

The scholars have yet to say what exactly is in the report, as its critical summary remains the subject of intense negotiations between the authors and governments over the next two weeks.

Consensus is required for the final version. Drafts are still being edited ahead of the public announcement on February 28, and are expected to be exciting in several places. One thing is for sure: the “nightmare” we just mentioned doesn’t look very good, but it will soon become clear what exactly is in that report.
