A remake of Fall of Max Payne is underway

Rockstar Games and Remedy Entertainment have agreed to completely renew the first two installments of the Max Payne series.

Given that Max Payne 3 will be 10 years old this year, fans may have the idea that rights holder Rockstar Games has forgotten about the tragic bodyguard of the New York cop. However, a recent announcement proves beyond doubt that the franchise was far from episodes, as the first two parts are being prepared, i.e. Replica of Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne.

And to make the joy even greater, they will be working on the same studio that was in the original releases after Rockstar Games and Remedy Entertainment successfully agreed to this. The two fantasy classics, revamped inside and out, will be imagined in one game, with the technical background being Remedy’s Northlight engine (Quantum Break, Control) and Rockstar responsible for financing. They promise AAA quality as well as the look of PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.

Under the agreement, developers will share revenue once development, marketing, publishing and distribution costs are offset.

It is clear from the statement attached to the announcement by Sam Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games, that a revamp of the classics is a Finnish idea.

“We are very excited that our old friends from Remedy have approached us with a plan to remake the original Max Payne games. We are huge fans of Remedy’s work, and we look forward to playing with the new releases.”

This was already added to the announcement by Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy:

“Max Payne has always had a special place in the hearts of Remedy employees, and we know that millions of fans around the world feel the same feeling, movement and atmosphere.”

Since the project is still in its infancy, it is suspected that we will get to its launch years later. Of course, the Remedy keeper won’t be bored until then, as the guys work on the continuation of Control and Alan Wake 2, which many also expect.
