“I was especially pleased when the Euroleague management decided in March to move the quarter-finals from Berlin to Belgrade due to the coronary artery virus, because I participated in a lot of events in Serbia, and the people there are fans of basketball and they’re reorganizing the tournament well for sure. As for the odds, I think every goalkeeper deserves a win based on seasonal performance. It’s hard to yell at a favorite player, as two games decide it depends on exactly how many feet the players get up on that day, and how burdensome they feel. When there are more players who previously made it to the fourth round, there will be less excitement in the team. I consider Barcelona the hair’s breadth probably more than anything else, but I’m pushing Adam and Real. If they had a good day and bypassed Barcelona, they would have a good chance. It will definitely be exciting. I expect from his voice what has been characteristic of him all season, and I’m sure they won’t get stabbed with him again like he did last year when he played just seven seconds in the final. He wouldn’t invent anything new either, Ádi is a great team guy, he’s balanced and achieves what he knows when he plays. I am fortunate to have been able to participate in the last four games, and play four games in the Elite Series. It’s strange to think about it that it was seventeen years ago when Tao Ceramica and I got to the finals at the Moscow Championships where we beat the host, so we made it to the finals. Unfortunately, our coach at the time, Dusko Ivanovic from Montenegro, beat the exercises, we were tired even though we should have won the golden battle against Maccabi. The day after the semi-final against CSKA we went to practice in the morning, we ran a lot, and when we came back from training, only the Israelis did… I’ll be there in the tournament too, and I’m sure Ádi will outlast my result.”– How are you waiting for the Belgrade Championship?

“I’m much better, I haven’t had another problem since qualifying.” Of course, sometimes I can barely go down the stairs because everything hurts… I’m not alone though, my teammates have similar problems, but at this point in the season it’s almost normal.
– How do you feel spiritually?
I’m looking forward to the round of four with a big surprise. It was great to be here for my first real year, especially as we had big ups and downs from February to March. After that, no one expected us to be anywhere near the final four at all. We are still here!
– What is the condition of your team?
– We can say that we are in a good pass, we have played eight matches since the Euroleague quarter-final, we have won three matches against Maccabi of Israel, we have won five champions and some of us. I think our fate is pre-written, but our conscience is clear because we prepared for the final with honor. We watched the semi-finals against Barcelona, we played with them six times this season, and the two teams can hardly surprise each other.
“How accurate are they preparing for Barcelona?”
“definitely.” We just got rid of it, because we don’t know who we’re going to play in the next match, whether it’s the bronze match or the final. With slight tactical differences, both goalkeepers may appear early in the game, but there will be no spectacular changes.
– He was still fighting the Catalans for victory last year, and now he’s driving against his former team in the semi-finals. feel like what?
– I have said many times that I want to play against Barcelona in the quarter-finals, but not because revenge leads. I’m not angry, it’s just my feeling that if we want to win the Euroleague, we have to beat Barcelona.
– What is the mood in the dressing room in general?
I see that everyone goes through this situation differently. There are players who are going to play this first four finals, but there are also players who play the eighth… Nobody should play under pressure, we have to enjoy the tournament and make the most of ourselves. Of course, Real Madrid is the club that is always under a lot of pressure, if you play here. You should release the cap when it matters.
– Do you remember last year’s tournament when, as a Barcelona player, you took just seven seconds from Lithuanian coach Saronas Jasekevicius in the final you lost to Efes?
– Yes, of course. What happened to me last year is good because now I am ready for such a situation. I actually lived forty-four minutes at Laboral Cutxes in my first four finals, and yes, there were only seven seconds in the final. If I need to play forty-eight minutes to win now, I’ll do it. If I need two minutes, I play a lot. If the team needs it, I’ll make five personal mistakes in five minutes and score. The point is, I’m two games away from being the first Hungarian basketball player to win the Euroleague. If I succeed, I will retire with a calm heart in a few years.

– A difficult battle is expected, the Greeks are also huge, they have already fought many big battles. In the end, the individual performance is determined, but I don’t know for whom.

– They come to Belgrade, the whole family. Real launches a separate machine for relatives and also pays for the trip. Almost all of our players will have relatives in the lounge, they may be a side strand, but they are important to us. Knowledge of their existence stresses us, plus it means motivation. If we win, the experience will be shared, the memory of a lifetime. But if we go out and grieve, it will be easier for the family to forget the grief in this situation.
