Aside from the Ultra models, Samsung has been using the same 10MP stand-alone camera in the Galaxy S series since the S10, which means there hasn’t been progress in this area for a long time. After the S20, S21 and S22 mobiles, there may finally be some improvement in the front-panel module of the S23’s camera, although it won’t be too big either, at least in terms of resolution.
According to the latest information provided by the Dutch Galaxy Club Posted, Samsung policy makers are considering introducing a 12MP front camera on the Galaxy S23, which will debut next year. It is not yet known if this particular unit will remain inside a divider or may move behind the screen due to some technological solution. It is also questionable whether or not these particular units will receive optical image stabilization.
At the moment, you can’t hear anything about whether the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s front camera resolution will be increased or whether the 40MP solution used for the current model, the S22 Ultra, will be retained.
With plenty of time before the Samsung Galaxy S23 arrives, there may still be changes to the design schedule, and we’ll likely hear about them as we get closer to its expected January 2023 presentation.
