After vaccination, the road is already leading out of the epidemic

May 17, 2021-22:43

Although more than a year has passed since the start of the epidemic, we cannot say that we have reached the end, but we can already be confident that we have crossed the borders from which the road leads after mass vaccination, as the President of the Republic said at an online conference of the Friends of Hungary Foundation on Monday.

Janus Ader stressed that although the suffering continues, our losses are numerous and untreated, but now all who have been vaccinated are getting effective protection at home and around the world.
In addition, Hungary is in a good position compared to others in terms of vaccination, the politician added.
According to the head of state, we are definitely different today than we were before the Coronavirus, and it might be better for us to prepare for a changed life together. Because we all want our lives after a pandemic to be better.
He noted that this year is now the second spring, when Hungary’s friends cannot meet within the usual traditional framework, as the only sure solution a year ago was to cancel the event.
At the same time, he continued, after a year, not only did our circumstances change, but also ourselves; Changing views from day to day have taught us that if we want to avoid more problems, we must adapt.
He expressed his belief that many did not believe that the first half of 2021 was still revolving around the epidemic, when in fact there was a better chance of it occurring.
He pointed out that in March of last year, the news was that it would take at least three years or more to develop a vaccine that protects against the virus.
The first wave of the epidemic was legally followed by the second, and by the time we were able to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the early emergence of vaccines, a stronger and more deadly third wave had reached us, it is included.
Janus Ader further emphasized that after the continuing uncertainty of the good past year, we can slowly regain the advantage and take back the initiative from the virus.
“Because we have the tools now. Because our lines of defense are stronger. We can really prepare for the distant future. Because if all goes well, we will get our vaccine in a year,” he said.

He stressed that Hungary’s friends, at the border here and also, can do a lot to be better, stronger, more solidarity, more cautious, forward-looking, wiser after the crisis, and to manage our human and natural resources more intelligently.
He drew attention to the fact that in recent months, the name of the excellent Hungarian scientist, Catalin Kariku, has echoed around the world. Thanks to him and his colleagues, life-saving vaccines are being produced on a large scale today using new technology.
In this regard, he wished the conference participants perseverance and determination in the footsteps of the biochemist.
“Because our lives after the pandemic will be what we can come to. We can improve health, increase resilience and sustainability of the economy, support science, and strengthen our societies.”
“In this work, Hungary relies on the active participation of its friends (…), perseverance, willingness to cooperate, knowledge and loyalty,” Janus Ader said.
