Compared to the fact that Sylvester Stallone was barely seen in the TV series during his 75-year career, he played as many as one or two episodes, and also appeared in Kojak in 1975 as Detective Rick Daley. However, he may soon debut as the main character, with the release of the first preview of the Tulsa King series, in which he plays a veteran gangster who returns to the underworld. Tulsa King arrives at Paramount+ in November, and Stallone plays an old mafia boss who is released from prison after 25 years and returns to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The series already seems to be a sensation not only because a veteran movie star has been cast in the lead role, but also because of its makers. The author is none other than Taylor Sheridan, the most recent writer, director and producer, who already has a number of damned popular sitcoms behind him (Yellowstone, 1883, Mayor of Kingstown), and has worked as a writer and director on films like Sicario, Wind River, Hell, or High Water. But it’s not over yet, the show is Terrence Winter, aka producer of two HBO gang series, The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire.
