Both Audi and Porsche are part of the Volkswagen Group, and both brands have been active participants in negotiations for a new generation of Formula-1 engines from 2026 onwards. Diess noted that Porsche’s plans were concrete from an early stage of the negotiations, so in the most likely scenario, they could join the Red Bull engine programme.

Unofficial information was published in the world press as early as April, and the head of the Volkswagen Group reportedly confirmed these facts. Reuters also reported that Des did not detail the plans, but revealed a lot about it

In a few years, Porsche intends to enter into a long-term partnership with Red Bull, which is basically the same as any press release.

The news agency also insists on the news that Audi has made an offer of five hundred million euros to McLaren, which, if accepted, would not enter Formula 1 as an engine manufacturer, but as a designer.

Volkswagen has not yet played in Formula 1, but has already worked with Red Bull, most notably in the World Rally Championship. In November, an insider revealed that Volkswagen’s participation mainly depends on F1 meeting its plan to switch to synthetic fuels by 2026.

Among the participating teams, the McLaren partner currently uses Mercedes, while Red Bull uses Honda resources.
