On Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Qingping and Russian President Vladimir Putin called for mutual recognition of the COVID vaccines approved by the World Health Organization as participants in the G20 summit, MTI wrote.

Neither president was present, and he is explaining their message to attendees via video. Hszi has not specifically left China since the outbreak of the epidemic.

The Chinese president has urged equal treatment of vaccines already approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization to make vaccines more available in developing countries. There are two Chinese vaccines that have already received this certification: Sinovac and Sinopharm, which is also available in Hungary.

China has made more than 1.6 billion doses of vaccines available to the world, with the aim of boosting vaccine markets and facilitating the access of developing countries to vaccines.

The Chinese president also said they support the World Trade Organization’s decision to lift intellectual property protections for coronavirus vaccines as soon as possible, and called on vaccine manufacturers to make the technology available to developing countries.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also called for mutual recognition of certificates of protection against the coronavirus as soon as possible. The Russians are urging G20 health ministries to address the problem immediately, and have also asked the World Health Organization to speed up testing of new formulations.

Putin appears to have focused on investigations into Sputynik V, as the World Health Organization has recently begun to re-examine the possible emergency use of a Russian vaccine. The downside is that the European Medicines Agency (EMA) still authorizes the vaccine.

The vast majority of Western countries do not yet accept Chinese or Russian vaccinations upon entry.

The G20 summit began on Saturday in Rome. This is the first personal meeting of the leaders of the largest farms since the outbreak of Covid. The main theme of the meetings will be commitments that can make it possible to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.
