The British Super Railway has been planned for more than ten years and is now one step closer. The government has a contract with Hitachi and Alstom to build the trains for ில்லியன் 2 billion (about 50 850 billion).
Trains travel at speeds of up to 400 kilometers per hour, but in practice they run “only” 360.
The deal covers the production of 54 trains, which will help maintain or build a total of 2,500 British jobs. These trains will be based on Japanese technology, but will also take into account the experience of European high-speed railways, which will create one of the fastest, quietest and most efficient railways in the world.
The first train is scheduled to leave the assembly line in 2027, followed by a further 2-6 years of testing and fine-tuning before it begins to carry passengers. A train is 200 meters long, but trains that are 400 meters long can be driven by two vehicles.
New trains will also be built on their own, but they will also be able to run on existing British Railways. HS2 is expected to halve travel time between some major UK cities.
