This is one of the five countries with the highest number of Govt vaccines

Looking at the five countries with the greatest progress in vaccination gives us a rare insight into our future. However, circumstances vary from country to country.

Five countries at a glance

So far, 20 vaccines have been given to 100 people in Switzerland. We are in the global midfield. Five countries, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Chile, the United Kingdom and the United States, stand out from the rest of the world with their progress in vaccination.

This is most evident in Israel, which has a high vaccination rate with more than 100 vaccine doses per 100 citizens.

Although these countries are rapidly vaccinating, the number of cases is not declining everywhere as desired. In Chile, they have risen significantly again since mid-February.

The reasons for this vary from country to country, and we will look in detail at the circumstances of the five vaccine precursors.

  • Population: 8.8 million
  • Vaccine (at least once): 5.2 million
  • Percentage of vaccinated persons: 58.8%

The life that many here in Israel long for is back. More than half of the population – including the risk group – has been vaccinated and many restrictions have been reduced. Even in closed rooms, up to 20 people can now meet up to 50 people outside.

There are special offers for those who have been vaccinated: they can visit gyms, hotels, theaters and sporting events again. Nevertheless, the development of the infection is very closely followed because new viral mutations can quickly re-complete daily life.

In addition, declining immunity is a cause for concern. According to Israeli entrepreneur Yanniv Erlich, the government is attracting people who want to be vaccinated with free pizza, drinks and tickets to the gym. IKEA customers can also be vaccinated while shopping.

United Arab Emirates

  • Population: 9.6 million
  • Vaccine (at least once): 3.5 million
  • Percentage of vaccinated persons: 36.1%

The number of cases in the United Arab Emirates has dropped slightly over the past few weeks.

Nevertheless, the government is optimistic and has announced the first domestic factory to manufacture Chinese vaccine synoform. 200 million cans a year should be produced soon.

  • Population: 18.7 million
  • Vaccine (at least once): 6.4 million
  • Percentage of vaccinated persons: 34.1%

Nearly a third of Chile’s population is vaccinated. Vaccination is carried out through complex appointments in health centers, football fields and vaccination routes, with a simple priority plan. People over the age of 70 are already protected.

But despite good progress with the Chilean vaccine, the number of cases is again rising significantly. Many new infections may be related to the vaccine used: the Chilean Chinese product relies on Sinovac. Although it prevents severe studies, it only protects against more than 50 percent against infection. This theory is supported by the fact that deaths continue to fall for several weeks.

In response to the growing number of lawsuits, Chile has announced that it is re-locked up. The government attributes this to the rapidly spreading virus mutation B1 and the widely used intensive care units.

But the Chilean government is hopeful: many teachers, firefighters and pharmacists have received the first-line vaccine, while most nursing home staff and the elderly have already received two. Thanks to the vaccine, the condition is expected to come under control soon.

United Kingdom

  • Population: 66.7 million
  • Vaccine (at least once): 29.7 million
  • Percentage of vaccinated persons: 44.6%

Nearly 60 per cent of adults in the UK have already received the first dose of the vaccine. However, only 6 percent have been vaccinated twice. But for the UK, this strategy has paid off so far – with a significant reduction in the number of cases and deaths.

The complex situation in the health system has also been overcome. Meanwhile, 4,500 patients across the country have been hospitalized for Covid-19, up from nearly 40,000 at peak times of the year.

Thanks to this stability, the United Kingdom was also removed from the risk list last week – returnees no longer have to be isolated in Switzerland.

In addition, the UK significantly eased corona exit restrictions on Monday. Up to two houses or up to six people can now meet again in parks and gardens. The “stay at home” order is being repealed, but the government is urging people to continue to avoid unnecessary travel. Undiscovered sports facilities and swimming pools are allowed to reopen.

United States

  • Population: 328.2 million
  • Vaccine (at least once): 91.7 million
  • Percentage of vaccinated persons: 27.9%

With 3.5 million vaccines administered in a single day, the United States set a new record on Saturday. One-third of the population is temporarily protected against Govt-19 with at least one vaccine dose.

The number of cases has been steadily declining since the beginning of this year and has been leveled over the past few days – albeit higher than at the beginning of the summer of 2020. There are currently no disruptions in hospitals.

So many students insist on enjoying their spring break. Although the party a year ago was believed to be a major driver of the epidemic, the beaches of Florida and California are filling up this March as well.
