One of last year’s negatively memorable releases was Cyberpunk 2077, as the sci-fi RPG loved it on the base versions of the previous generation consoles, but there were also issues with the PC version, meaning we’ve run into bugs a few times. This fiasco has damaged RED’s reputation for the CD project, so since then the development studio and publisher, CD Project, have (must) be very careful. In the wake of this warning, the release of the next genre update for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 has also been delayed.
So far, we think PS5 and Xbox Series X/S updates for both RPGs will finally arrive sometime in late 2021. However, the CD project is a new official project Communication Inform everyone that not at the end of 2021, only in 2022 the two promised updates will arrive. For Cyberpunk 2077, 2022 Q1, the first quarter, is the new deadline, while for The Witcher 3, 2022 Q2 only, the second quarter. In particular, the announcement did not explain the reason for the delay, we can only read that the chief mufti supervising work on the next generation versions suggested giving both projects more time.
We shouldn’t rush it, because we gamers don’t want the cyberpunk 2077 fiasco at the end of last year to happen again, even to say the least. The Witcher 3 will come with a couple of DLCs anyway, but these will only be smaller amounts of content related to Netflixes Butter, and not big additions to extend the story. And here you can see how the game works on Steam Decken.
