The Ukrainian president has ruled out restrictions on the NAS channel.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed sanctions on the pro-Russian NAS TV by the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (RNBO). The relevant decree was published on the official website of the head of state on Friday.

According to the regulation, “Economic Restrictive Measures and Other Personal Restrictive Measures” are in effect for five years against NASA Praha, NAS 24 and NAS 365, and the owner of the television channel Demosina Investments Ltd., which is registered in Cyprus. They include freezing bank accounts, restricting business operations, and stopping economic and financial obligations.

Opposition Tribune – For Life A Ukrainian opposition party described the measures as destroying freedom of expression and democracy. The party stressed that the restrictions were imposed in the usual way without investigation and the issuance of a court ruling, without providing any evidence or justification.

In February 2021, sanctions were imposed on three Ukrainian television channels linked to the Moscow-friendly minority rule – 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZIK.
