The 42-year-old, who previously consolidated as a player and then ran Diósgyőr VTK as coach, told current M1: “He has many friends in Miskolc, so he continues to monitor the current second-division team and lead struggles.”
The Spanish coach confirmed that Hungarian football, including Ferencvaros, has developed significantly in the past ten years, and it is not surprising that they are included in the group stage of the European Cup for the third time in a series.
Fernando Fernandez indicated that Betis is also interested in three series, but the European League final is being held in Seville, but they are preparing for the match at the moment. He added that Ferencváros could also reach one of the top three places to advance – the third place could be transferred to the Conference League.
The expert confirmed that he is very proud of his ability to work alongside one of Chile’s leading coaches, Manuel Pellegrini, who used to be a player. He added that the goal in Betis is for the goalkeeper to perform well in La Liga, as he did last season when he finished sixth.
