Two-time European Champions League winner and world silver medalist, Dragana Cvijic will strengthen the Ferencváros women’s handball team from summer.
German Julia Behnke will return to her homeland in the summer, so someone had to be approved for this position. During his professional career, 31-year-old Dragana Cvijic was a player with Crvena zvezda, Krim Mercator Ljubljana, Vardar Skopje and CSM Bucuresti, winning BL in 2012 and 2015 with Buducnost Podgorica. This season he started again in Ljubljana, and from January he will consolidate Moscow for half a year.
“I couldn’t find my accounts in Ljubljana, so I decided to switch. I really liked what the FTC leaders summed up for me, so my first decision was to join the team from next season, but I wanted to be in BL this semester as well. So I took the chance at Moscow, ”said Svigic.
Zsolt Görög, Executive Director of the Handball Division at the FTC, described Cvijic as an international class who plays at the highest level in both defense and attack, is a true fighter, a winning type of player, and his passionate style of play fits Ferencvaros’ spirit.
