Glenn Schofield: Callisto Protocol will be bigger than Dead Space!

Since he was behind the creation of both games, no one knows better than him…

The Callisto Protocol It will essentially be a spiritual sequel to Dead Space, in which Glen Schofield was behind Isaac Clarke and is now trying to create a sci-fi-like survival horror in another universe (which promises to be revolutionary again; but with Krafton’s Striking Distance).

Schofield is IGNIn an interview with, did you ever get asked how similar the Callisto Protocol is to Dead Space? For this, Scofield said the studio knew that the environment for the two IP protocols would be very different, and he considered this important. We’ll play, and at first we may think we’re dealing with Dead Space, but then we’ll realize it’s a different story with different characters in a completely different world. They themselves tell the story differently, and the fights will not be the same either. That’s why he says he doesn’t think there’s much chance that people will say it’s Dead Space 4.

We’ve heard before that Callisto Protocol takes place in the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or the PUBG universe. Well, that’s not the case anymore (maybe it’s even better because we’re having a hard time associating this lingering horror in our heads with Battle Royale…). That’s what Scofield was talking about. When they started implementing the Callisto Protocol, asking the folks at Krafton if they could put the game on the PUBG timeline, he wasn’t against it. PUBG is believed to be huge, and a year later, it was believed that in the case of the story, they did what the developers wanted, including the characters and the universe and announced it belatedly. They didn’t want to confuse people, so they announced that they had taken the Callisto Protocol from the world of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
