Hay fever or cross-allergy? Determines what to eat and what not to eat

Dr Krisztina Moric said the reason for cross-allergies is that the structure of grass pollen is very similar to that of some vegetables and fruits, which is why an allergic person’s body can “confuse” the two.

Foods that cause cross-allergies

Consuming tomatoes, rye, wheat, soybeans, peanuts, beans, peas, tamarin, and carob can be a problem for grass allergy. It is important to note that cross-allergy does not affect all people who are allergic to grass. On the other hand, often the person who gets it is not sure of the cause, so they prefer not to eat more food – especially if they have another allergy to the grass – to make sure they avoid complaints. Your meal may become one-sided, as cross-allergy symptoms may appear not only now, in the grass pollen season, but throughout the year.
