Id Software is looking for employees to develop one of the classic FPS series

The last big game from id Software was Doom Eternal 2020, and it is not yet known what its next development will be. The Texas team with a long history has already put some IP addresses on the table that fit that description throughout their history, but the circle can still be narrowed. Wolfenstein has had Machine games in recent years, and Rage worked at Avalanche Studios, so Doom and Quake stayed. The former has already made it to the top with Eternal, so it would be understandable if the studio put that aside a bit now, and in any case, there are signs that after many years, they’ll be bringing Quake out again. One of them is the release of a revamped version of the first earthquake in August, which could be a kind of survey on the part of the publisher about how popular the franchise is today. Another sign is that “AAA sci-fi and fantasy environments” are mentioned in the description of the technical situations just announced. And Quake is one of the rare IP addresses where both flags can be used.

It will be interesting to see how the studio recently imagined Quake, as the games in the franchise are quite diverse.
