Aston Martin announced on its official social media right after the Hungarian Grand Prix that Fernando Alonso will be driver for the team starting next season. The Spanish Formula 1 driver has been racing in the Alps since 2021.

Alonso, who won the world championships in 2005 and 2006, will replace four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel at Aston Martin after the German announced his retirement at the end of the season last week.
