Index – Sport – Mud bath at its best, in unbelievable conditions The best in the world in the legendary race

Last year, Paris-Roubaix was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, but this year, after two and a half years, the best cyclists in the world have managed to start the legendary race again.

The distance of 257.7 km included 30 sectors of cubic stones, the total length of which is 55 km, and the conditions were, to put it mildly, arduous. There were a lot of falls, moderators also fell, and in some places the participants had to deal with a real sea of mud. It is no coincidence that the race was called the “Northern Hell”.

This year’s competition is the European champion Sony Colbrelli won. The Italian biker cried after reaching the finish line after 6 hours 1 minute 57 seconds. For the first time in his 31-year cycling career, he triumphed at Monumentum.

There was another Hungarian participant in the field after 2011, but Barnabas Beck did not finish competing.
