The British Prime Minister once again referred to the historical relations, common interests and direct relations between the Hungarian and British peoples. He noted that the formation of the new Hungarian government takes place at a critical time for Euro-Atlantic security, when – due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine – Europe and NATO must show unity.
Boris Johnson stressed the importance of planned sanctions on Russian hydrocarbons, but acknowledged that Hungary faces unique challenges to the country’s energy security. To this end, he offered UK support.
