Visitors to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam can watch Rembrandt’s Night Patrol at a special location.

Upon reaching the final stage of a major presentation of the painting, the image was placed on a special easel so the researchers could examine the back of the image and the lowest layers of paint using the latest technology.

Operation Night Patrol is Rembrandt’s most comprehensive research to date, and takes place in the summer of 2019 in front of a museum audience.

The night patrol One of the most famous works of Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669). The painter was commissioned in the 1940s to provide the Civil Guard in Amsterdam, led by Captain Frans Banning Kock. A large picture measuring 363 x 467 cm filled an entire wall in the Rijksmuseum.

The painting is attached to a wooden tarp frame. According to the museum, the public does not see the original canvas, but rather the one that was later confirmed from behind, like many 17th century paintings. The night patrol In the case of this happened in 1975 when a knife was attacked on the board

Experts are now checking to see if there is enough confirmation. The lower layers of ink are then examined with scanners and microscopes.

The plaque will be hung in place again on November 23 – this time with a picture in the future. Its restoration will be scheduled for December.
