According to Lando Norris, McLaren is now third behind Ferrari and Red Bull.
By the end of Week 4 at Imola, the Wokingians seem to have found themselves in very good shape, even though the season didn’t really start that way. In the first two rounds, it had to be sought in the second half of the field, but now the enemy Already at 5-6. They ran to a place where no one would bother.
“Now it looks like Bahrain was a great event” He said Norris after the Imola sprint. “That seemed to be a reality at the time. A lot of what we saw at the time is still in the car, but we understand it a little better now. We’ve worked on the weaknesses and fixed them. There are a lot of positives, but I think we’re comfortably third.”
Norris finished third in the Friday time trial, but he didn’t know what to do with Red Bull and Ferrari coming to him on Saturday.
“Because of those I was with at the start, it’s very difficult to judge our pace because they are faster by a second and a half per lap,” he added. “Because I knew Carlos and Sergio were behind me, I tried to make the difference as much as possible, but whatever I did, they were way ahead of me anyway.”
