Microsoft unveiled a new Teams subscription meant for small and medium businesses in early December. The new package is longer and offers more multiparty meetings than the basic free package.
Starting December 1, Microsoft’s online video conferencing and collaboration platform, Teams, will also be available in a new design. Teams Essentials is primarily designed for small and medium-sized businesses that don’t need the other components included in Microsoft365 packages, but want enhanced functionality on free Teams.
Teams Essentials, which costs €3.4 per month, can hold up to 30 hours of unlimited group meetings with up to 300 participants per meeting (free teams are limited to 60 minutes and 100 participants) and offers 10GB of storage per user (compared to 5 GB for free teams).
The next step in capturing meetings, integrating your Outlook calendar, and even more than 1 TB of storage could be the base version of Microsoft365 Enterprise, which costs $4.2 per month and includes the most important Office apps as well as Teams, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Exchange Online.
