Samsung comes with a wallet-friendly smartphone that many are happy with.
Samsung released its first Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S20 FE, back in 2020. It came in two versions, a 4G version with Exynos 990 SoC and a 5G model with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. By January of this year, the Galaxy S21 FE finally arrived and with it Snapdragon 888 is 5G capable in the foreground.
We assumed that the S21 FE would not just be a 4G version, as 5G networks are becoming more prevalent around the world today, and even mid-range mobiles largely have 5G support as a standard. But it looks like Samsung wants to surprise us, so they’re working on a 4G version of the Galaxy S21 FE.
While the 5G version carries the model number SM-G990B, courtesy of Galaxy Club employees, we learned that the upcoming phone will carry the SM-G990B2 code, which has its own separate firmware. This model has recently been certified by the Bluetooth SIG and includes Bluetooth 5.2, and the S21 FE 5G has only Bluetooth 5.0.
The S21 FE 4G will work with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G chipset, according to several listings in Scandinavian online stores. The SoC was used by Samsung last year’s Galaxy A52, and the Xiaomi sub-brand, the redmi Also on many devices. This is much weaker than the Snapdragon 888 in the S21 FE 5G, which means the S21 FE 4G should also be cheaper.
