According to the latest figures from the British Home Office on Thursday, more than 140,000 Hungarian citizens have applied to the British authorities for a settlement.

According to the first comprehensive quarterly summary of the UK Home Office released on Thursday this year, 5.3 million of the 27 EU citizens living in the UK have done so by March 31.
At the top of the country-wise list for information are Poles and Romanians with 975,180 and 918,270 applications, respectively. The top five sectors have applications for the establishment with 500,550, Italians 376,440, and Spaniards 320,850. According to Interior Ministry figures, Hungarians are in the middle sector with 140,460 applications.
As of March 31, UK authorities had evaluated 4,977,740 applications and 3 per cent of the applications submitted had not been approved for some reason. Of the 53 percent of applications examined, applicants were granted permanent status and, in 44 percent of cases, pre-established status.
The latter are available to those who arrived before 31 December 2020 with the intention of establishing themselves, but have not yet completed a five-year career in the UK at the time of submission. They can wait five years and then get a final residence permit. Until then, they are fully entitled to the rights they purchased.
Those who have already lived in the UK on December 31, 2020 can apply for immigration status by June 30 this year.
