Samsung was in debt a couple of years ago with the Galaxy Book wallet upgrade, but it has now paid off its debt – four times that amount. Galaxy Book Pro is the most powerful in the series, and Galaxy Book Odyssey focuses on performance rather than portability.

Samsung did so in mid-April Prepare for another presentation. The South Korean company has promised to pull the fastest Galaxy out of the hat so far, but one can only guess which device it will cover. Most likely, the company will pull the cover from a laptop, as Samsung has for two years owed an update to its Galaxy Book wallet. Now it turns out that the South Korean company was actually built with a laptop – and four at once.

Samsung Galaxy Book Pro

One of the four was named Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and immediately arrived in two sizes. One is a 13.3-inch device and the other is a 15.6-inch device, and both are very light: the first weighs 0.87 kg, the other barely more than 1 kg (exactly 1.05 kg to be exact).

Both are given an AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels that can display 120 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. Inside the Galaxy Book Pro is an 11th generation Intel Core processor, with a choice of i3, i5, and i7 models. You also get 8, 16 or 32 GB of RAM. You can choose up to 1GB of storage, which of course means SSD.

The i5 and i7 come with Intel’s dedicated Iris Xe GPU, but users can also order the GeForce MX450 GPU.

There’s no shortage of sockets on the laptop, either: the 15.6-inch version has Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, USB-A, and an HDMI jack, plus a 3.5mm jack and microSD also has a slot for the card reader. On the 13.3-inch version, you’ll find almost the same, except for HDMI.

Samsung pledges that the device will last up to 17 hours on a single charge, and the device’s battery will be able to be pumped through a 65W charger. The device will also come in 4G / LTE and 5G versions, but availability may vary by market. For sure, for the Germans, the 13.3-inch, i5, and 8 GB RAM variant costs 1,100 euros (about 398,000 HUF), while the 15.6-inch version with the same configuration costs 1,200 euros (about 434,000 HUF).)

Samsung Galaxy Book Pro360

Samsung also made a 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch version of this laptop, but there is a big difference from the Galaxy Book Pro that this device has a Super AMOLED touch panel. However, there is no difference in accuracy compared to the above.

Regarding processor selection, the situation is the same as with the Galaxy Book Pro, but the Nvidia MX450 GPU is no longer an option here. However, there are some changes in terms of memory, as the smaller device is only available with 8GB and 16GB RAM, so those who want 32GB will have to choose the largest. However, there is still up to 1 TB of storage available.

Both ports contain Thunderbolt 4, two USB-C ports, a 3.5mm jack, and a microSD reader. The smaller device is also capable of 5G, so a nanoSIM slot awaits users.

The price of the machine in Germany starts from 1,200 and 1,300 euros, depending on the volume, which corresponds to 434,470 thousand forint.

Samsung Galaxy Book Odyssey

The South Korean company has also considered those for whom portability is a less important aspect and who focus more on performance. They created the Odyssey for them, which is a laptop that is much heavier and weighs 1.85 kg compared to before. It covers a 15.6 inch device, it is a TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The device actually comes with an 83W battery, which comes with a 135W charger. Of course, the additional power is also needed due to the graphics performance, as the Intel unit is no longer dedicated, but GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Max-Q or 3050 Max-Q – depending on your choice. You can only choose between the i5 and i7 processor, but there are also 8, 16 and 32 GB of RAM, while here you can also order an SSD with up to 1 TB of storage space.

Samsung Galaxy Book

Finally, a few more words about our fourth laptop, the Samsung Galaxy Book. It becomes a device with a 15.6-inch FullHD TFT LCD that can also feature Intel’s 11th generation i3, i5 or i7 processor. You can choose from versions with 4, 8 and 16 GB of RAM, and up to 512 GB of storage space available. True, we can also order a second SSD if we feel this is not enough. The GeForce MX450 GPU might be responsible for graphics tasks, but it’s also an option. This device is nothing but the LTE version.

For Germans, the entry-level model (i3 processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage) costs € 680, or roughly 246,000 Ft.
