Puzzle Quest has found a new owner in the person of 505 Games. Last year, the Italians only bought the original creative studio of the franchise, but they actually own the entire franchise.
The Puzzle Quest series began as a Warlords franchise in 2007 with Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, but this title that combines RPG elements with Match-3 features quickly grew into a franchise of its own. In the past 15 years, it has had many sequels and earned its own spin-off, also getting involved in the worlds of Marvel, Adventure Time, and Magic: The Gathering.
Its last episode was released last year, after 505 Games acquired the original creative studio, Infinity Plus Two: Puzzle Quest 3 was released as a free-to-play game on mobile devices and PC. However, it seems that the Italian publisher hasn’t finished the series yet, having recently purchased the D3 Go! (who until now was responsible for publishing Puzzle Quests) from Bandai Namco, however became the sole owner of the franchise.
It is not yet known what plans 505 Games have in store, but they promised that games acquired in this way will continue to run and will also receive new content.
