U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on Friday called on Americans in Ukraine to leave the country. The governments of Britain and Norway and the EU embassy have done the same.
Sullivan says Russia could hit Ukraine by the end of the February 20 Winter Olympics.
“As we have said before, the invasion could begin at any time if Vladimir Putin decides to do so,” Sullivan told a White House press conference. Sullivan says Russia could hit Ukraine by the end of the February 20 Winter Olympics.
“We want to make it absolutely clear that all Americans must leave Ukraine as soon as possible, not after the next 24-48 hours.
The EU Diplomatic Service has said that workers who are not important for accommodation will leave the country. The British government has urged its citizens to ‘leave commercial flights while they are still on’.
The Norwegian Foreign Ministry has urged its citizens to leave Ukraine and not to travel to areas of Russia and Belarus more than 250 kilometers from the Ukrainian-Russian border, except for the capital, Minsk. (Politics, Al Jazeera)
